All Starz | Early Childhood Program

All of the Tiny tot dance classes which are offered in both the morning's and afternoon's including Saturdays, are designed to keep the children stimulated, fit and most importantly, ensure they have a lot of fun!

Class Outline:

Tiny Starz - 4 and 5 year old children - 1 hour

This hour long class incorporates Jazz and uses a variety of methods to introduce pre-schoolers to dance and music. Many props (scarfs and wands) are used and fun music played to help introduce basic dancing skills. We love to dance to The Wiggles and Hi Five Music! Tiny Starz helps develop coordination, rhythm skills, musicality and social skills. Our little dancers learn simple movements and dance combos, and learn to dance and sing in time with the music.

Twinkle Tots - 2 and 3 yr old children - 45 mins
This class is ideal for our youngest little dancers, especially devised for their young bodies and their ability. It’s their very first dance class!!!!! Similar to the Tiny Starz Class, it also incorporates Jazz and Classical Ballet however it runs for 45 minutes rather than an hour. It too focuses on introducing basic dancing skills developing their coordination, rhythm skills, social skills and musicality.

Tiny Ballerinas - 4 and 5 yr old children - 30 mins

Ballet is offered to young members of the school, and takes an exciting trip into fairyland! With a zap of their magic wands and dressed in their favourite fairy dress, children enter the world of classical ballet. Students learn the positions of the feet as well as many other fundamental technical requirements.

Tiny Tapperz - 4 and 5 yr old children - 30 mins

This class is for the young tapper introducing rhythmic and motor skill development. A sense of rhythm will develop for the young tapper as we dance to upbeat tempo music. Basic tap movements along with some added fun dance activities will be applied in this class!

Tiny Tumblerz - 4, 5 and 6yr old children - 45 mins

Tiny Tumblers is now specially designed to introduce your child to tumbling. Learn age-appropriate, skill-oriented progressions that provide a positive movement experience. Children develop fine and gross motor skills, body awareness, strength and flexibility while having fun.

Tiny Tunez - 4, 5 and 6yr old children - 45 mins

The combined singing and drama class offers to develop the child’s self-confidence, awareness, imagination, stage presence, movement, expression …. Just to name a few. It also looks into releasing the natural power of their voice for performance, and helps them discover and explore breath, rhythm and character.

Important information:

Watching Window

Parents may sit in and watch the first class to help settle their child into class. However after this we feel the children do better with out distracting parents and other siblings in the classroom, which is why a one-way viewing window has been set up for parents to watch their child. There are special tactics to help ease your child into class so don’t worry if it takes a few classes for them to settle. Once they do they’re not going to want to leave!

Uniform

Students must wear the All Starz Uniform. Most littlies feel comfortable if they look the same as everyone else in class. This gives them a sense of belonging to a group and feeling very ‘special’ in their cute outfits. All Students must wear correct dance shoes in the concert so it is a good idea to get them from the start.

  • GIRLS - Camel Jazz/Tap Shoes
  • BOYS - Black Jazz/Tap Shoes
  • TINY BALLERINAS – Pink Ballet shoes

Any singlet, t-shirt and shorts is fine to get started if you are not sure about your child’s confidence to participate in the class. Sneakers and bare feet are acceptable until you are sure that your child will be continuing the class.

Watching Day

We have watching day for the last 10 minutes on the last class of each term, where parents get to view the child dance as an audience in the classroom. It a chance for them to see you to watch them dance their very best, which in turn begins their first step to working on their performance skills. Bring mum, dad, grandma and grandpa and if you have a video camera be sure to capture those precious moments.

Make-up Classes

You may swap days during Terms 1, 2 and 3 if you miss a class. In term 4 each class works on a different routine for the end-of-year concert so it is too confusing for the students and teachers to have students swapping classes. We do recommend that you avoiding alternating days too much as littlies need the comfort of knowing that the same teacher and their friends will always be there when they go to dancing.

End of year Concert

Participation in the concert is not compulsory but highly recommended. It’s a great way to reward students for their hard work all year. The concert is held at the Parramatta Riverside on the 15th November for these littlies. Most students go on stage even the 2 year olds! Each year we only have one or two that get a bit nervous which isn’t too bad out of around 250 little people!!
